A 400 year old Japanese process of bonding different colored metals using only heat and pressure. Once bonded the metal is hammered thin, a pattern is ground into it and then hammered to a flush sheet. Items are then created from this sheet.

(cabochon is a gemstone which has been shaped and polished as opposed to faceted. The resulting form is usually a convex obverse with a flat reverse)
I have been repairing heirlooms and personal treasures since 1978, There are few things I can't repair, but I haven't found those yet. From simple resizing to the most difficult repair, I can handle it.
